At Kids Crossing, our Toddlers will enjoy a variety of learning experiences that will encourage them to develop a sense of self and practice skills required to deal with the challenges as they learn about their rapidly changing environment. They will learn basic classroom routines and rules and will continue to develop social skills. They will also begin or continue toilet training.
We provide activities that encourage them to play with other children in small groups. This gives children the ability to learn to play with other children, share ideas, and accomplish small group activities. We also believe it’s important for them to play independently so they begin to learn to express individual ideas and to accomplish age-appropriate tasks by themselves. Our two-year-old curriculum includes a continuation of circle time (learning color, letter and number recognition, days of the week, month, and weather), individualized goals, playtime with age-appropriate educational toys, imitating and pretending stories and books, connecting with music and movement, creating art, sign language, small and gross motor skill activities, and exploring the outdoors.
Each of our classrooms has an open door policy which encourages parents to be an active part of their child’s care and learning. Parents are welcome throughout the day to just observe, to interact with their child in the classroom, or with notice, to join us for lunch.
